“Rădăcina” meaning root, is a word that bursts with poetry in Moldovan culture. Like the roots of a plant branch out to keep its trunk steady, so does a person lay roots through their culture, mother tongue, home, and community.
The motif of the ribbed column pillar, made famous by Constantin Brâncuși’s Endless Column sculpture, is a core element of Moldovan and Romanian folk art. Like a healthy root, it holds and inspires its sprouts perpetually.
Our rugs are produced on a made to order basis and are crafted entirely by hand, a process which makes every single rug custom-made.
Since each rug is handcrafted, please expect slight organic variations in colour and pattern shape. We try to craft the rugs as close to the original design as possible, but we also believe the charm of artisanal rugs lays in the unique imperfections of handmade weaving.
Care instructions:
Vacuum regularly to prevent dust build-up. Light spot cleaning every two weeks is recommended.
Deep cleaning: Occasional gentle hand wash in cold water or professional rug cleaning.
Drying: Never tumble dry. Lay flat to dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight.
Maintenance: Rotate your rug periodically to ensure even wear.
Loose yarns: Do not pull them out; simply trim with sharp scissors.
Order and Shipping:
The production of a rug can take between 8 and 12 weeks. The timing might vary depending on loom availability. Each customer will be personally contacted by us with more precise details about their order.
Germany: Free shipping on all orders. Delivery time 2–4 business days once your rug is ready to ship.
European Union: Flat rate €15 depending on size. Delivery time 5–10 business days.
International (UK, Switzerland, Canada + Europe non-EU): Flat rate between €15.99 - 29.99 depending on size. Customs duties and import VAT may apply in the destination country.
We are not currently shipping to the USA but we are working on making it happen.
