Vintage Moldovan Rug "Northern Wine"
A majestic rug made in the classic ornament style of the second half of the 20th century. Podnosul "The Tray" was a motif introduced by craftswomen into rugs as a result of the rising popularity of Persian and Turkish rug elements in Soviet Moldova.
The weaving technique used for this rug is called “fir cu fir” (thread by thread) and is characteristic to the northern region of Moldova, resulting in a firm and thick rug. The background of this rug is a beautiful shiraz color and the accent of the composition is a sky blue tray carrying bouquets and garlands of roses.
